From the month of May to September 2016, Ruang Sementara@Art row, Publika, Kuala Lumpur will be focusing on 4 activities, and the objectives of this special project are;


Short term;
Develops and delivers relevant training to the students, artist & public
Trained the artists to feel more competent and confident in supporting target audience
Increase participates collaboratively in community networks organized to respond to neighborhoods /art community demand, economy & education


Long-term;
To increase the effectiveness of the importance of basic knowledge of visual art management/art administration to students, lecturer, art researcher and the general public
To build the network among the selected community. 

TUTORING

This tutoring aims at providing assistance and understanding the professional practice of visual art scene in a non-profit organization.

This course also emphasizes the local perspective of visual art project and exhibition festival. It will cover topics within the strategy and practice ranging from planning and operation.

Through class discussions and course works, students shall build up their independence and critical perspective in visual art scene by using the local art scene as the project’s materials, which included projects, exhibitions, and festivals. 


ARTIST MANAGEMENT

Self-manage showcase with emerging young artists and mid-career artists. Every showcase runs for three weeks.

The purpose of the showcase to experience the exhibition in professional practice and educate the selected artist the actual production behind the exhibition.

Few areas to focus;
Designing web with .COM, business card & Publicity Material
Photography Artwork & profile
Designing printed portfolio 16 pages plus cover/ poster artwork caption/ mockup 
Writer for short profile and statement 
Preparation exhibition or open studio (Reception, Technical, Transportation, Publication, Designing development)

MAPPING

The mapping project is mainly to collect data of the visual artist in Kuala Lumpur & Selangor. The database will be collected accordingly to the district in the two selected areas. 


The result then will be shared with all arts institutions as the reference for students and art researchers.

OTHERS

The extended of project management, where all participating artists are encouraged to handle workshop, sharing, creative presentation either focus adult or kids.


To have networked with local and international loose collective or DIY space for exchange project, either mini showcase, merchandise or book display.


This is how the artists will involve with the public and giving back to the community and the same time to improve artist’s skill on public speaking also involved in the discussion.
